about me

I am a mum of three children,  George,  Sam and Hetty and along with my husband Belli live in a small picturesque village just outside of Stamford in Rutland.  We also live with our crazy little pug Ethel, our cairn terrier Beatrix, Hetty's guinea pigs Autumn and Maggie  and the recent addition to the family  of Maud the cat. Never a dull moment!

It was George and Sam's love of pirates that started this journey. Having looked for some personalised party invitations for George's birthday, I struggled to find any that I really liked and so decided I would create some myself with no intention other than inviting his friends to the party......

Having sent these out I was asked by a number of the parents where I had got the invitations from and despite the glaring error of writing 'Party Invation' instead of 'Party Invitation' (I will put that down to baby brain!!) I received some very nice comments and was asked if I would consider producing some personalised invitations for their children's parties.  And so I did.  From there, it soon moved on to personalised illustrations for their children's bedrooms  and requests came in asking where they could view and purchase my work. 

So here I am......my children are my inspiration......

With that same inspiration this has now lead me into other areas. Hetty's love of sitting in a bath has resulted in receiving a bath bomb from many a friend as a birthday or  Chritsmas gift which she throughly enjoys using and I have to say, she is not alone, I love these!  However, while Hetty enjoys the bright colours and fun shapes, as a lover of all things that smell nice, I wanted to explore the use of beautiful scents, natural colourants and dried flowers and plants to give my bath that luxury feel.  The lighting of a candle to provide a relaxing aroma is the natural accompaniment and this again gave me the opportunity to experiment with the many wonderful fragrances to produce candles that I enjoy in my home.
